In 1951 Mohammad Mosaddegh became the prime minister of Iran. Mohammad Mosaddegh began to nationalize oil so the “west” disapproved … so they killed him. The way the “west” manipulated this was highly questionable to me. Was there really no better alternative. In Persepolis the Shah was not killed when overthrown so why was Mosaddegh killed. Mosaddegh unlike the Shah, Mosaddegh never hurt anyone. The 1951 parliamentary election wasn't even close Mosaddegh’s party won 79-12. The Shah saw Mosaddegh’s popularity and named him Prime Minister. Mosaddegh made tons of new regulations to promote equality. But the day he nationalized oil the USA and the UK crucified him. The UK single handedly made crippled Iran’s oil market, they used the UN to stop many countries from buying oil from Iran. Operation Ajax was the opposite of the one from the Persepolis, the people were behind the leader but internationally Mosaddegh wasn’t liked by the powers. In Persepolis the coup the was because the government was repressive. Ajax was because of promoting quality of life. Mosaddegh could have been the best thing to happen to Iraq. The US and UK had to be selfish and they had him ousted, imprisoned, and then killed. The idea that the US would do that is weird ... oh wait screwing people over is our foreign policy, literally the foundation manhattan was built on. The In both 1979 (persepolis) and 1953 (ajax) Iran there were successful coups and in both the country became stricter and both did not fulfil what the people wanted.
Fazlollah Zahedi the man chosen to replace Mosaddegh
